It has a water reservoir at the center so the ants can not reach the nectar. The holes dispensing the nectar are too small for the bees. the bees will try the feeder and eventually leave it alone (you may find a stubborn one that keeps trying) It has a platform so that the hummingbirds can rest while drinking...fun to watch them and great for taking pictures (and the poor bird does not have to burn more energy flying than it is getting from the food!) The juice does not leak because the top part screws on the bottom and the juice is always leveled The cons: not particularly attractive, however my pretty glass feeders ended up being covered with bees and it was hard to watch the hummingbirds fighting them off to get to the food, not to mention few bees always fell inside. I prefer to purchase Aspects brand "HummZingers", as they are high quality and made in the USA. Service was good. |
