Best-1 Large Capacity 72 oz Hummingbird Feeder

We ordered two of these Best-1 72 OZ hummingbird feeder on June 3rd and have used them for 2 months. They are leaking due to stress cracks at the top of the bottle where the hanging mount is attached to the bottle. These feeders were not built strong enough and thus are very poor quality. Order a different brand and do not waste your money on these feeders. It is too bad large feeders are hard to come by.

We have had this feeder for a couple of years now. It has held up just fine. We have a lot of hummingbird activity, and will quickly deplete even the more common 30-oz feeders. With this, we can comfortably go away for a weekend without worrying if the hummingbirds will run out of nectar. The base is the easiest to clean of all the styles I have. The body of the unit does have a somewhat narrow neck, although not as narrow as smaller feeders. Certainly having one of the specialized cleaning wands helps; a toothbrush is too short to get to the bottom of the container.

When we initially started using this feeder, we felt the hummingbirds were slightly reluctant to use it. The feeding ports are closer together than on most other feeders, and with hummers being the anti-social birds that they are, they were perhaps hesitant. I wish I had read the review before me, before purchasing this product. The bottle can't hold up to UV because it's plastic. The bottle got brittle, and developed cracks. The birds liked it OK till it broke. If it were glass, it would be great.

It only lasted one season; it was a waste of money.
