I ordered this product very recently. It appears to be yet another high quality recycled product from Bird's Choice. While the Pole Topper does come with a flange attached that accepts a 1" diameter pipe, the actual pipe section that you need to install the Pole Topper over your tray feeder is not included. You can purchase a 12" pipe extension from Bird's Choice for $1.45. My feeder pole is green, so I purchased an extension from another company (Stokes.) Unfortunately, the hole that passes through the top mounting bracket (which is attached to the bottom of my tray feeder) of this other pole (also manufactured by Stokes) was not quite large enough to accept the tapered end of their pole section. So, I had to use a Dremmel tool fitted with a small grinding stone to enlarge it slightly. That solved the problem.
One other note, like all products manufactured by Bird's Choice that are comprised of recycled lumber and clear plastic, many of the edges are very sharp...Read more
BIRDSCHOICE RECYCLED POLE TOPPER,

Have been looking for a protective covering for my platform feeders for several years to prevent seed deterioration from sprinkler heads, rain, and to help minimze a hawk from dive bombing the song birds. I just received this item yesterday. Construction is a high quality. Easily mounted on my platform pole purchased from Wild Birds Unlimited. Tapped red ribbon to the underside of the acrylic top to hopefully prevent injury to my hawk during dive bombing raids. The success of this intervention is currently unknown due to the unusual occurrence of snow here in SC. My smaller birds are definitely showing a preference for the protective roof during fluries. My cardinals and other full sized and plus sized feathered friends are using both my covered and uncovered platform feeders. Plan to order a second one soon. Shop around for prices; I have since found a better price on this item.
