i have had this feeder for 4 years now, and i am very satisfied. i have had a variety of plastic feeders, some which are okay and others are not. but this feeder has always been my 'always have up' feeder. easy to clean, not easily tipped by larger birds(orioles, fiches, woodpeckers)and much more steady in the wind. the hummers do like it-i am surprised by the other reviews that they were not successful-can't always figure out why nature responds the way it does.
and yes, the top of it is glass, it can be broken. but i have dropped it a few times, the only casuality so far has been one tip of a flower-not much of a loss. so it is very sturdy. and for some reason, i have *never* had ants or bees on this one(oh sure, now that i've said that, they will come!).
it does have a plastic bottom, i am more 'scared' to break that then the top!
Hummers didn't like it! They tried it and never returned to it.,

Yeah...very pretty and like the other review, it's totally useless. The hummers didn't like it at all. They were curious and tried it and never returned. I had to put my First Nature widemouths back up. They're much easier to clean and won't break.

not one hummingbird even approached this feeder. but they love my basic old school red plastic ones. it was pretty but totally useless
