The materials are solid but when I took it out of the box it was coming apart.....husband was able to use some screws and get it more solid but we shouldn't have had to do that....I didn't want to send it back as it was a gift and needed for a certain date.

This feeder came in about 10 pieces. Not one glue joint was intact. And since the box was fine and it was packed ok, I assume it was falling apart before they even shipped it. In fact one of the plastic windows was missing which can only happen if the glue joints are taken apart so it must have been broken and missing the plastic window before it was even put inside the box. I can't imagine such incompetence when you sell on Amazon where reviews sell everything. This piece of junk is worth about $2 and only because of the precut cedar pieces. So it you want to buy a diy kit with precut pieces of wood, get this and you can glue and scew it together yourself, just hope that the plastic windows and all the hardware are in the box. I should have listened to the other review that had the item arrive in pieces as well.

The style of the bluebird feeder is good; I like the rusticness. However, after all this time, the bluebirds have not found a way to get inside to get they feed! They count on my putting the food on top, as the directions suggested. Are my birds not as savvy as most???
