The Woodlink 16" Clear Plastic Baffle prevents squirrels and small raccoons from raiding your bird feeders and scaring away birds. Makes a great weather shield and is perfect for yard hangers and poles and will never block your view of feeding birds while it protects. When the baffle is pole mounted, it creates a rounded "wall" that blocks squirrels, raccoons or chipmunks from climbing up to the feeder and when hung above creates a weather shield to protect your seed as well as discourage squirrels from climbing down to the feeder. Durable heavy-duty plastic construction with steel hanger withstands the elements. Hang above any hanging feeder or install on any ½” to 1 3/8" diameter pole, for best results, pole mount at approximately 5' high, below the feeder or bird house. Suspend bird feeder from included dual hook hanger or remove the hook and use 3 thumb screws to attach to pole and rest baffle on top.

I use it on a 1" pole and at a height level that is right underneath my hanging bird feeder, while at the same time about 5' from the ground. It works wonder, the baffle (skirt) wobbles as rodents try to dislodge it from beneath (& inside) and there's no way they can defeat this - unless of course they chew off the ring support, which is exactly what mine are doing day & night now. They teeth are too strong for the acrylic but Woodlink assures me that if they chew it through, a replacement piece will be mailed to me. Since that I wouldn't accept anything in black or green, this modern acrylic clear baffle is perfect. And once again, it works very well.

This really works when used mid-post as a squirrel baffle. The baffle can move and tilt on the post mount, so a squirrel that jumps onto it is unceremoniously dumped on the ground. They can't get a grip on the smooth surface, so off they go!

This would have gotten five stars except that the plastic weathers in the sun and heat of summer in the South. The first one lasted three years before a thump from a squirrel or the wind or something cracked it; this is my second. That comes out to about 70 cents a month for keeping squirrels out of the bird feeder.

The baffle is good when it is not windy.It doesn't fit snugly on the bird feeder so it blows around. In calm weather it is large enough to keep the seed dry.
