Our Woodpecker Suet Feeder is designed specifically for woodpeckers and flickers.
The paddle below the feeder provides support to balance with their tails. The feeder roof lifts off easily for insertion of one or two cakes of suet.
Baked goods, such as corn bread, may also be placed in the feeder. Woodpeckers enjoy peanut butter mixed with suet, corn meal, sunflower seeds, cracked corn, raisins or nut-meats.
Nuthatches and chickadees are also attracted to suet and this style suet feeder.
Hand crafted in Maine of durable Eastern White Pine.

This review is from: Coveside Woodpecker Suet Feeder Took about a week for the birds to use this feeder, but now the woodpeckers and other birds use it every day. The best part is that my relentless squirrells cannot get to it because the openings are smaller than regular suet feeders. The woodpeckers rest their tails on the wooden tail rest so it works exactly as described.
