This review is from: Enviro Pro 1025 Deer Scram Repellent Granular White Pail, 25 Pounds (Lawn & Patio) Deer Scram is easy to apply, and mostly it works. Hungry deer are difficult to deter, and so far there is NOTHING out there that completely stops them except proper deer fencing. However Deer Scram will provide a level of deterrence that I have not previously found with any other application product. It smells a little weird, but not objectionable. I sprinkle it broadly across the unfenced part of my yard, about an 18" wide swath, then I sprinkle it around my particularly vulnerable plants, such as roses. I re-sprinkle about once every three weeks and when I let it go too long I get deer browsing. Unfortunately, since deer are creatures of habit, once they discover the "salad" in your yard they are harder to deter. That's when I ramp up my efforts and sprinkle a little extra in their favorite areas. If I keep it up, they will move on to some other more delicious yard. This review is from: Enviro Pro 1025 Deer Scram Repellent Granular White Pail, 25 Pounds (Lawn & Patio) We had rabbits in the garden before scattering Deerscram powder around the border of the garden. None have appeared since, even with heavy rains. I will apply it once more for the summer. A friend applies it directly to the plants and has had no trouble either, and she is in deer territory without a fence. I like the fact that I can scatter it and forget about the invaders. I highly recommend Deerscram 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I live in forested PA state...near a state park. Dealing with animals is a challenge to say the least for us around here. Deer are brutal and I have scarcely found anything that worked to deter them through the years, though Liquid Fence was helpful (it rains too much for that around here though...the need for frequent reapplication makes it terribly expensive). Deer Scram however worked amazingly well from the first day I put it down! I literally watched a small group of deer late the first evening try to make their usual pass along my house to the hill behind and below. They stopped cold in front of the trail of Deer Scram I dropped. It was too good to be true :p It has held up through heavy rains and with minimal reapplications. The smell is unremarkable (not unpleasant). Small rodents seem to ignore it sadly but the deer clearly are repelled. I could not be happier with it :) |
