This new design feeder from Droll Yankees is top grade, just like other products from Droll Yankees that I have used for a number of years. The ring pull design is so simple yet makes it so very easy to clean the tube. I also recently replaced the tube on an old niger feeder and Droll sent it free of any cost for the tube or for shipping. This is a fine company that stands behind it's products.

Ordered this feeder to use with black sunflower seed only, after previous feeder didn't make it through a cleaning.
I'll start by noting that the perches/feeding areas on the old feeder were simply snapped into the plastic tube. It was very difficult to remove them when the tube needed to be cleaned. Eventually, the plastic that held the snaps simply broke, making the feeder unusable.
This new feeder does not use tabs, but rather a mechanical union using a shaft that pierces each pair of perches/feeder holes. When cleaning is required, the shaft is simply removed and the perches fall right out - no snapping or bending of plastic. To re-install the perches after cleaning, just add and insert the shaft again.

Very pleased with this feeder and will never settle for different brand again.

PS - birds are very happy too!
