I worried about the coldness of the metal perches during winter on the bird's feet. The local birdseed store people (who don't carry this item) said this perch wouldn't make any difference to the birds. They were so wrong. I tried out two perches on the feeder to see how the birds reacted and found that if there were only one or two birds at the feeder, the perch rings were where they landed to feed. I now have them on all the feeder perches. They are super easy to install and remove and easy to clean. This product is a great idea.
