I had to look around for this feeder, because i wasn't interested in any of those junky feeders made in China. This is a high quality feeder that is well designed and will last forever.

I got this feeder because it allowed me to put it somewhere that the squirrels had absolutely no way to get to, not so that i could gawk at the birds while they were eating. This feeder gets 5 stars just for working out perfect to that end.

Also, you don't need the mirrored film. I put this feeder up, filled it, and kept the blinds in front of that window closed for about a week, so they could just get used to the new feeder. Then the next week, i left the blinds open when i wasn't around, and they got used to being able to see inside the house. After that they got completely used to seeing me inside the house and it was no big deal. Even the blue-jays will fed in it when i'm in the room. A chickadee landed in it while my hand was in it.

Bought this feeder and didn't realize that the mirror film is only about 1 foot by 1 foot (the size of the feeder). This works if you have a small window but I have a full size window (seze 32"x52"). I set this up at the cat tree so my cats can watch the birds. Since the film is so small the birds can see in around the feeder when they fly up which means they get scared away.

I went to the local hardware store and they have a 15 FOOT roll of the mirror film for $25. This covered my WHOLE window. The feeder itself is fine but is only made of clear plastic which doesn't really explain the $40 I paid for this because it is pretty small. The suction cups work like a champ though. The size of the feeder only fits small song birds / rens. It is to small for Blue Jays or Mocking Birds.

I recommend buying the film yourself and getting a feeder separate.

I am so happy w how this feeder looks. It is nicer than i expected re durability too. It is a gift so i havent used it but it really looks nice. Delivery was fast.
