When it arrived, the screen is so flimsy that it was bended out of shape. The top and the bottom are make of, again, flimsy plastic. Quality is comparable to the McDonald throw away toys. Instead of this, there is another identical model which is about 20% larger with metal top and bottom . I think I bought it at Petco a few years ago. It costs more but hell of lot stronger and above all, not misleading ! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) We received the Woodlink Magnum Sunflower Feeder as a gift about 6 years ago. It immediately attracted all the birds in the area, including chickadees, pine siskins, house finches, black-headed grosbeaks, flickers, jays, and even magpies. Both large and small birds feed without wasting any seeds. The feeder has held up beautifully through heavy snows and hot dry summers with weeks of 100 degree weather. It has not been damaged by high winds. The feeder is very light, so that most of the weight is the seed. It's extremely easy to fill, too. We've just replaced one of our old wooden feeders with a brand new Magnum, and the first bird landed on it in under thirty minutes. We have had all kinds of bird feeders, and have fed birds here in Utah and back east in Pennsylvania over the years. This is the very best feeder we've ever used! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By TheThinker (Midwest) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Woodlink MAG1 Magnum Sunflower Feeder, 4 Quarts (Lawn & Patio) I ordered 2 of these as a replacement for one I that I had been using for years. The new feeder seems to be sturdier than the old one. I really like Woodlink brand feeders as they are always high quality and well designed.
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, the hole in the lid allows the chain and hook to slide completely through the lid when refilling. This is a minor nusance and could be solved with a washer or some type of "Chain-stop". The birds love this sunflower feeder. Finches, woodpeckers and nuthatches all are frequent visitors. I also orderd the thistle feeder that is similar in design. It is the best thistle feeder that I have ever had. |
