Over the past 10 years I have found this to be the best Goldfinch feeder on the market. The unique feeding design is what makes these the best in my opinion. Other feeders have a flat tube with round or oblong holes drilled in it. The finches feed fine, but so do every other bird including sparrows and house finches. The Garden Song Goldfinch feeder has a recessed feeding hole which seems to be a perfect fit for Goldfinches with other birds trying but failing to get to the Nyger seeds, which is the only food I put in our feeders. Here in Iowa we have an abundance of Goldfinces, probably why they are the state bird, and our feeders are bery busy year around. This was not expected, we were so excited that we bought this, and after waiting for such a long time for this feeder to arrive we were very disappointed to find out that the birds are not attracted to it at all! forget feeding from it they don't even look at it we would not recommend buying this unless your birds are used to this type of a feeder
any other feeding suggestions welcome!
Nothing wrong with the feeder...,

except that it has not attracted any finches! I use to use thistle socks and goldfinches would flock to them. But it got expensive to replace them twice a month. So I bought this feeder, filled it with nyjer, and nothing... even the House finches aren't attracted to it. They haven't even sat on it.
