Although it is a pretty feeder, the hummingbirds did not want to feed from it. The yellow feeding ports are rubber or vinyl, and the bird has to stick it's tongue into the port and part it to feed. The birds opted to feed off the other 3 feeders (of different designs) instead from this one. I plan to return it.

I got one of these 2 years ago when they first came out. And yes, like the one reviewer said the hummers didn't take to them at first. But I loved the no leak/drip design during high winds so I got another and then limited the remaining hummers to just one old style feeder that a little dominating male controlled. That forced the remaining hummers to use them or else put up with 'lil Hitler'. One female caught on quickly and gradually taught the rest how to use them. When I went looking locally for a couple more last year I found them hard to find (manufacturer no longer even has them on their website) but now I have 4 scattered around the house and yard. It's not unusual to see 2 or 3 sitting on each feeder with the dominating males wearing themselves out chasing trepassers. The old 'pinch neck' perky pet feeders with their drippy, bee attracting ports,and small, hard to clean necks have been recycled. The glass hummingbird feeder arrived quickly.The birds love it. Because of the little rubber ports that only open when the hummer puts their beaks in, the water stays fresher longer. No more bugs in the water! Great buy!
