This review is from: Songbird Essentials SE613 Finch Magic Thistle Sack Bird Feeder This is a nice big sturdy sack. The finches feed from it all the time. When the sack is full, it's not unusual for eight or nine birds to be hanging onto it and feeding. The downside of this is that I end buying a lot of relatively expensive thistle seed. But, the enjoyment of watching the finches (and knowing they're eating their favorite food) makes up for that. One downside is that darker colored birds aren't as noticeable as they are against a white sack. But, the brightly colored finches appear more vivid, and I like the way the black sack blends in with the tree. I do wish that the string was also black. (It's white.) I've tried those pre-filled sacks. They're fine, but don't hold a lot of seed and start getting large holes after they've been refilled a couple of times. I also tried a large white sack (one with bird images on it) - the birds never ate from it. This is the best sack I've found. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Tulsnake (Broken Arrow, OK) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I think it's the color and the weave! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Margie "Margie" (OH USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Songbird Essentials SE613 Finch Magic Thistle Sack Bird Feeder We have dozens of different species of birds that come to our feeder every day, especially finches. However, after hanging this out for several weeks, we haven't seen one bird come near it. This is nothing more than an empty black mesh net. |
