Product Review

Large Plantation with 2 Suet Baskets. This combination feeder is built like the Plantation models, but contains two compartments for suet. The combination of feed grains and suet provides a high caloric energy source for birds. Suet will also attract a greater variety of birds to your feeder like Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and Chickadees. 10.00 inches tall x 11.00 inches long x 16.25 inches wide

This feeder is well crafted and holds good quantity of seed. Beware if you are post mounting this as there is no wood support on bottom to attach a post fitting. Also, top does not have latch to secure as stated.

Our local Ace has a very nice wild bird department with an extensive selection of bird feeders and bird houses, some of which are made by Songbird Cedar. Looking at the Songbird Cedar products and physically holding them as I look, I am impressed by the quality of materials used and the quality of construction. The heavy cedar is thick and strong, exactly the material one would choose to withstand the elements.

I like the looks of this feeder, the sturdiness of the removable tray and the ease with which the tray can be removed for cleaning. The two suet feeders on the sides are a great bonus and invites a wider variety of birds to the feeder. We've had any number of birds feeding at the suet, including woodpeckers, blackbirds. finches, bluebirds, and bluejays.

We like having a covered feeder so birds can eat in a place protected from the rain.
