Great feeder for goldfinches, pine siskins and other clinging birds,

This is an excellent feeder and will attract clinging birds like goldfinches, pine siskins and finches. It allows for lots of feeding because there are no perches and finches love to cling. It has added advantage of discouraging larger birds because they have no place to perch. Easy to fill. Well made and comes with a lifetime guarantee. Use with nyjer or thistle seed. This feeder is the larger size and will hold approximately four cups of seed. The smaller version is Aspects Nyjer Mesh Finch Feeder

Fill this with nyjer seed and then sit back - I've counted 12 Goldfinches feeding from mine at once, with more waiting their turn. WAY better than the mesh socks which quickly turn very ugly, this is a great feeder of high quality. Just be prepared to buy BIG bags of seed because you'll be very popular with the finch crowd once they discover it.

This review is from: Nyjer Mesh Tube Bird Feeder, Medium
I purchased this feeder along with the Aspects 10 port thistle tube feeder. I wanted to give my goldfinches the options of perching or clinging (yes, I spoil my goldfinches!). This feeder is a solid piece of quality material. The shiny clean look of the stainless steel will look great in your yard! The mesh holes are just the right size for the birds to eat comfortably. I previously had the Woodlink copper thistle feeder, but returned it because the mesh holes were too small and the finches were just moving around it trying to find a seed that they could extract. It was not liked and the birds would wait their turn in the branches for the tube feeder, leaving his feeder alone (also, it is overpriced). Back to the Aspects feeder: Some seeds will come through the mesh while you fill it, so do fill it outside or over a bowl. Trust me, you do not want a feeder that is too fine and doesn't let any seed spill out when filling, the birds will prefer other feeders. Use some warm...Read more
