This feeder is the smaller of two mesh feeders made by Aspects. It is an excellent product. The top is easy to lift for filling. Goldfinches, siskins and other birds love to cling and feed and this is a fun and active feeder. It also has the advantage of discouraging non-clinging birds because there are no perches. If you have goldfinches and the like in your area, they will love this feeder and you're likely to see dozens hanging onto it and feeding. This feeder holds a little over 3 cups. Comes with a lifetime guarantee. The larger feeder of the same type isAspects Nyjer Mesh Finch Feeder. Best used with nyjer or thistle seed although you can also use shelled sunflower seed. Don't use mixed or sunflower seeds with this feeder.

I bought this feeder to encourage native songbirds to come to our yard - especially American goldfinches, as opposed to Gray squirrels and exotic, invasive House sparrows. My suet feeder and seed feeder were being over-run with squirrels and House sparrows ("English sparrows"). The concept of having a nyjer seed feeder that neither the House sparrows nor Grey squirrels would use, was very exciting. I hung the feeder up, and within a day, a pair of goldfinches was visiting. A month plus out, at least 2 to 4 and more goldfinches now come to the feeder, daily. Unfortunately, because I've stopped using a seed mix in the nearby seed-feeder that the House sparrows like, they've started to use the nyjer seed feeder and intimidate away the goldfinches. However, the goldfinches seem to find enough time during the day to feed at the nyjer feeder without the House sparrows forcing them off. Note that goldfinches force each other off this feeder. This is extremely cute and well made. The quality of the material is not cheap, it does not feel cheap and looks like it will hold up in the weather quite well over the years.

More of a modern take on a bird feeder, so looks nice on any home.

The "smaller" version is not too small, but rather a nice size.

I'm looking forward to watching birds enjoy this as much as I know I will. Pleased with the purchase and will be ordering another one soon.
