This is a perfectly adequate thistle seed feeder, except that rain can and will enter the feeding ports, causing the seed to cake and germinate. Birds won't eat the result.
If you purchase this inexpensive feeder, plan to hang it under shelter or to add a rain shield to the top.

The birds do not like this bird feeder. I really don't know why except that it is plastic and hard for their feet to grab on to. Seed bunches up and gets wet at the bottom and molds.

I've tried many tube feeders over the years, and this finch feeder and it's sibling sunflower feeder are hands down the ones the birds favor. I think it is the T-shaped perches, but whatever the reason, these feeders are used more consistently than any other tube feeder. They are inexpensive enough that I can purchase a new one every other year and not wince at the price. I only wish they were a bit more attractive, but considering the cost, I can't complain.
