This is a cute and functional ant moat for your hummingbird feeder. This ant guard in the shape of an inverted umbrella is made of bright red powder-coated metal. Just fill the "umbrella" with water. Ants will not cross water or they will become trapped in the moat. This is the perfect solution to keep pesky ants from robbing nectar from feeders. Note: This item replaces the flower shaped red ant moat, which has been discontinued.

The ant season is in full force here in the desert. I have had this product for several weeks and so far there have been no ants. Because it is hot here I have to fill the moat almost every 2 days. That's the only drawback.

I purchased 2 ant moats. They really do work and also provide another source of water for chickadees and tufted titmice.
