Comment: This hummingbird feeder is for the birds-they love it! I've always had good luck with this style, seems sturdy. Love to have those little guys right up at my window so I can enjoy their antics. Would buy again.

Comment: We love this feeder. Here's why in a nutshell: The couch is in front of the window that this is mounted on, and so the hummingbirds feed about three feet from our eyes! It's amazing being so close. They are so cute. We have other feeders, but this is our very favorite. We have owned this about 18 months.
PROS:
1) It does not leak at all.
2) It is easy to fill without spilling anything. No mess.
3) It is easy to clean. I just flush it out with hot tap water between fillings.
4) The suction cup holds firmly to the window. It has never fallen off.
5) The birds feed on this thing many times a day and seem to love it as much as we do!
6) The birds are so close, that cat and dog love to sit on the couch or by the window and watch the birds too!
CONS:
1) One of the perches broke off soon after I bought it. It was due to my rough handling. I glued it back on and handle it more gently now. After doing that, it has been fine all last year and so far this year too.
2) The clip holding the clear part to the red base broke off right away, but it does not matter. The two main parts hold together with a nice snug pressure fit, and the clip is actually not needed at all.
All in all I would have given it 5 stars except for the plastic clip and perch breaking. The clip is not needed and the perch was easily glued back on. If I would have been more careful, the perch would not have broken in the first place. Again, we love this little feeder! I added a customer image of what we see from our couch.

Summary: Plastic tabs hold this together.... 2008-08-09
Comment: Two, small plastic tabs are the only thing holding this unit together and they become brittle after a short while, perhaps from the heat and/or sun exposure. You can count on those tabs breaking off too, either the first or second time you have to refill it. Its a great idea and the hummingbirds liked it, but don't buy unless you can accept this feeder as being a disposable feeder instead of a reusable one.

Summary: Too Fragile 2008-08-01
Comment: I've got two of these, but will not be getting any more. As indicated in other reviews, the tabs holding the two pieces together break off very easily, making the feeder all but unusable. The other problem is that these feeders leak sugar water at the joint between the two pieces, which means they're constantly covered with bees and wasps, which chase the hummers away.
The hummingbirds like them while they last, but there are better options out there. I'd recommend the Opus model 455 window feeder instead. It doesn't break or leak, and the birds like it a lot.
