Summary: Post-mount works great, too 2010-07-18
Comment: This feeder is made to be hung from a shepherd's hook or other device, but we have mounted it on top of a 4x4 post with great success. We picked up a couple of corner brackets with short screws to hold it in place and the feeder sits nicely. The birds love it--feeds up to 6 birds at a time.

Comment: Just got this feeder out Sunday. It is quite beautiful and well-constructed. We live in an open area with not a lot of trees and I wanted to have a feeder that the birds could have some protection from the elements while they eat.(my other feeders are more open)
This feeder is quite heavy and although it comes with a rope to hang, we will be most likely mounting it on a post.

Comment: I put this feeder out in my front yard and the next day had birds eating out of it. It's attractive and it was also very easy to fill. I personally used a funnel to fill it with bird seed. I love it!

Comment: Another disappointment. The feeder arrived with some of the downward beams not secured to cover the seams at the top, meaning that the glue had not done it's job. The bird seed container inside is very cheap plastic and it is really difficult to fill. I would not recommend this product.
