I purchased this bird feeder in hopes of downsizing for the winter months utilizing the possiblity of putting different selections of seed into 1 feeder, but am not sure it's going to work that way. I like the dividers and have used 2 sides for sunflower seed and the other side for thistle, however the gap at the bottom is large enough for the seed to mix. This does not appear to bother the birds so it does not bother me. The problem lies in the roofing when there is a stiff breeze as it acts as a wind catcher and ends up tilting off the feeder exposing the seed to the elements. Since it is plastic it is very lightweight and does not hold up to strong winds, and it's only November. I currently have 2 bungie cords fastening the roof on opposite sides to keep the seed dry but am not sure I'm going to keep up this process for the next 5 months of winter. I had purchased this feeder 3 years ago from a retail store. After using it for a few weeks, I tried to purchase another, but it was no longer available.

When the feeder was inadvertently chewed up by a toothy squirrel, I salvaged it the best I could, but wanted to see if I could find another.

I went online, found the feeder for an obnoxious price, but looked further into other options.....ta-da. Enter Amazon. 7 dollars cheaper, (or should I say "cheeper") and fast delivery. I ordered two. The birds have to take a number to get to the feeders -- they're the best!

We feed a lot of wild birds in Hawaii, but they go crazy knocking way too much onto the ground and because of the ledge around the edge food gets wet. We're opting for a smaller feeder with more conservative holes to dispense the food.
