I only wish I had ordered it a few weeks earlier. Still, it will make a great home for the next season.

Comment: I know that you are not going to believe this, but I am going to tell my story anyway. I am passionate about two things, birds and St. Francis. About two weeks ago, I was halfway through a bottle of whiskey, lamenting my inability to combine these two passions when lo and behold I had an epiphany. Surely, if Mr. Reese had the courage to combine chocolate and peanut butter with utter disregard for culinary etiquette, then I could only hope to find some other kindred spirit with the carpentry skills and the fortitude to assimilate bird infatuation with St. Francis or vice-versa. The quest for this object became the sole focus of my life. I have traveled to twenty three countries in thirteen days, seeking out scholars, bards and historians who may also seek persons with the necessary courage to perform such a task, so that they too can tell their tale. My journey was not a pleasant one. It turns out there there is a lot of hatred for St. Francis and birds in the middle eastern countries I visited. There was quite a language barrier, but I believe that I was called by many derogatory names. These people made it sound like I wanted to take birds and physically stuff them into St. Francis' mouth. I feel so misunderstood. I want St. Francis' mouth to be so inviting that the birds can't help but dive right in. I began to feel that my quest might end in pain and suffering until one glorious day, when I was lying on the floor of a Denny's in Istanbul and I had yet another epiphany. Perhaps, I was the one with the necessary courage. How could I be so vain? Dammit, I had to try. So I folded my paper plate into a triangle, laid my menu on it and painted Santa's face on it (the only Saint I have actually seen in person). It was a miracle. Literally tens of thousands of birds stormed that Denny's in an attempt to get at St. Francis' pie hole. This product has great power and must be used sparingly.

Comment: I really love birding and looked for a decorative birdhouse that had all of the recommendations from the National Audubon Society. This house has a nice clean out in the back, proper sloping of the roof to allow for water run-off, and no perch that would allow larger birds to rob the nest. It is also just gorgeous. The face of the house is made of carved resin but you'd never know it....it looks just like wood. The details are beautiful. This birdhouse really invokes a "wood spirit" type look and I love it!
