Bird houses and feeders made from the recycled milk jug plastic is a very "Green" design feature. I did find feeders made by Birds Choice made in Wisconsin. This Rubicon Fly through feeder is the same material, but a bit larger than the other feeders I found at Amazon.
Now that I have received the feeder, I see the roof design is greatly flawed because the lower edges of the roof where the water will drip off is OVER the food tray by a good 1/2". The rain will drip down directly into the food tray and get food wet. So much for their claim of keeping your bird food dry. Looking back at the listing in Amazon I now see there is no end view showing the roof lines in relation to the food tray.
I should have stuck with the "Birds Choice" feeder. It is about the same price, not quite as big but a much better "roof over the tray" design. I will add some plastic under the edges of the roof to bring them out past the tray. A half hour of my time fixing this is...Read more
