Best I've tried so far. The little guys check out the dome first before the feeder so all that extra red helps. It provides great rain with decent sun protection. Most important it's half sphere design deflects wind very well while all of my disk shaped rain shields have fallen at some point or two during seasons. They go perfect with the Best One bottle feeders you just have to bend the inner hook a bit for easier access. Dish feeders like the Hummzingers need a "S" hook or anything to increase the distance between the bottom of the shield and feeder. Looks like it's too tight of a gap for the hummers and they don't perch on the feeder otherwise. They have yet to show any UV damage for two seasons now. Tip: Putting on a coat of cheap car wax will make pollen, dust and most important bird droppings come off very easily if not automatically in the next rain.

This cover works out great on my feeder. There are not too many shady places in my yard. And the color red really gets the hummers attention.

i bought the hummingbird helmet for my husband - he has 4 feeders with 1 in direct sunlight all day. the helmet has worked perfectly to help shade that feeder and it has helped keep the rain from filling it up and watering it down.
