I bought this feeder with high hopes it would appeal to a variety of birds.
It draws them in, But anything bigger than a finch will have trouble. Well the perch is so close that larger birds will have issue.
They can feed on it, but they a cramped. The glass comes a bit to close to the bottom. It does not allow good flow of sunflower seeds and the like.
After light rain the seed was very wet. The roof line does not protect the seed from rain.
Giving this feeder even one star is difficult.
Its does not protect from rain.
Its perch only suits the smallest of birds.
Flow of feed is hampered.
Its made in china....
I hope the other products are designed better than this.
This is my first experience with this brand.
I am going back the way of the old fashioned feeder myself.
Love the versatility,

I wanted to write this review to counter the previous bad review. We have had this Stokes Hopper Feeder for over a year and are very pleased with this device. We live in a rural area and have it mounted about 8 feet above the ground to keep the deer from getting in to it. We really appreciate having the added suet block cages as we have a pair of woodpeckers who are regular visitors. We are able to see quite a variety of birds enjoying the food that we put in this feeder and have had no problems with either the dispensing of the food or with water damage even though it is very exposed to the elements. I think this is a great, well-made product.
